Ryan Jesena is a Los Angeles-based photographer, DJ, and writer. Raised in the blue-collar section of Glendale, California, he was exposed early on the street graffiti artists that grew out of Los Angeles. With the exodus of the middle class from Downtown LA in 1990s, street artists invaded the vacuum by tagging and placing their graffiti on all the vacant buildings that were left behind. He has spent the past 10 years documenting their art in its various forms and transformations. From urban nuisance to art-house superstars, he has witnessed the legitimacy of graffiti art into a valid art form.
Ryan is the author of In the Blink of an I, a collection of poems published in 2002, and is also DJs as Lushbunny, and has performed in Coachella, Burning Man, Elysium Festival, PEX Summerfest, and Compressor.
