Scott Horton

I was born in Washington State and raised in Seattle. My passion to create art really began in college when an art professor who recognized my talents encouraged me to create large pieces of work and experiment with various media.

I have produced work in watercolors, oils, pastels, acrylics and mixed media. My work ranges from impressionism to "street art."

After moving to Los Angeles in 1993, I continued to explore mixing media. Recently I created a series of work that represents Route 66 — an historic road reaching from the Midwest to the Pacific Ocean, ending at the Santa Monica Pier. I employed different styles and techniques that I thought best represented this piece of early Americana.

Soon my love for music, movies, pop and street art became the driving force for my most recent work. My "voice" in art now is expressed through song lyrics as symbols, and famous icons as part of both past and present culture.

I hope you enjoy the work as much as I enjoy creating it.
